Greenhorne & O'Mara/EwingCole Joint-Venture Wins $50M Contract with USACE Norfolk

LAUREL, MD – January 26, 2010 – The Greenhorne & O'Mara (G&O)/EwingCole Joint-Venture (JV) announced that it has signed a 5-year, $50M Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity contract with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Norfolk District.

The G&O/EwingCole JV will provide the full range of Architecture and Engineering (A/E) planning, design and construction services to the Norfolk District Corps and throughout the North Atlantic Division of the Corps. The JV is currently providing A/E services to the District's Center of Standardization (COS) Program. Enlisted Personnel Dining Facilities are one of the first standardized designs to be implemented and constructed by the Norfolk District. The JV will provide functional and technical reviews and site adapt services to the Norfolk District for construction of these facilities.

The standardized design for General Instructional Buildings will also be created as part of this contract. The Norfolk District has responsibility for five other facility types: Classroom 21, Military Entrance Processing Stations, Family Housing RFPs, Information System Facilities, and Criminal Investigation Facilities.

"The work being performed under this contract is a key element of Army Transformation. By implementing Centers of Standardization designs, the government will reduce costs and time needed to deploy new facilities. This will have a positive impact on the quality of life and working environment for thousands of men and women serving on Army bases worldwide," said John Voycik, Managing JV Partner and Project Manager for the contract.
