LAUREL, MD – March 9, 2010 – Engineering consulting firm, Greenhorne & O'Mara, Inc., (G&O), announced that construction is underway on the $25.1 million SR 85 at SR 123 Flyover project located in Okaloosa County, FL.
This is a Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) project being funded under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA). SR 85 and SR 123 are State Highways that are on Eglin Air Force Base by easement. Therefore, all work is coordinated through Eglin AFB.
The project consists of construction a new flyover bridge to connect SR 85 and SR 123. Work includes constructing three bridges, widening, milling and resurfacing, retaining walls, drainage improvements, seven retention/detention ponds, utilities, lighting, signing and pavement markings.
